Women's Artistic Achievements

Postcards on display from October 6 - October 11, 11am - 4pm, at the Student Union Building Art Gallery, UBC.

Dreams for Women is a postcard art project that asks people to mail in their hopes and dreams for women. Featured in Ms. Magazine, in the International Women’s Museum and on feministing.com, the postcard art project has attracted worldwide attention and interest, garnering media attention and submissions from as far away as Japan, Germany, Brazil, France and Los Angeles. The project began receiving submissions in January 2008. It has received hundreds of submissions so far. The Exhibit will feature selections from these submissions as well as contributions from local artists. Ten local artists including Gregg Simpson, Clive Holden and myself, have contributed Dreams for Women postcards which will be auctioned off at the Opening Party.



Public encouraged to write their own hopes and dreams for women on a postcard

The public is invited to write their own hopes and dreams for women
on a postcard to be displayed in the exhibit alongside hundreds
of postcards received from around the world.
