I seem to be taking a bit of a romp through 19th-century art history lately -- from the Romantic musings of Teach Me to Forget to the Impressionist qualities of this new photomontage print, Water Garden. When creating Water Garden I was aware that my intent to interpret the effects of light on water, glinting in the sunlight, was similar to the Impressionists' very focused concern with capturing light quality. l wanted to evoke the sense of being in a floral garden, fragrant and light-filled. I have recently completed three new photographic montage art prints created from photos I took of Boundary Bay and Lighthouse Park in the west coast community of Point Roberts, Washington. Title: Teach Me to Forget

My recent photomontage work, Teach Me to Forget, has been chosen for a juried show alongside other photographic and digital artists from the USA, Canada, UK and Mexico. Hosted by the Watson Studio Gallery the exhibition celebrates the beauty found in the abstract representation of the visible world. The show runs from July 26 to September 20 in Johnson City, near Austin, Texas.
