Ladner Village Market

Spring seems to have been a long time coming in the Lower Mainland and here we are almost at the start of summer! Well, nothing says warm weather fun like the wonderful Ladner Village Market held every other Sunday right through to September.

Treat yourself to fresh produce, aromatic baking and a great blues band! Join me and a great variety of 140 vendors from all over the southern province for the first market of 2010.

Live Music at the Market

Every market features great live music! Here is the line-up for June 13:

10am - 1pm

What's in the Studio

This coming fall will be the first time I've participated in the Eastside Culture Crawl — the well-established event in Vancouver where the public are invited into artist's studios located in the general area of Strathcona to Commercial Drive. Although this event isn't until November, I've started working on a number of new artworks and hope to have at least 20 new pieces for exhibit.

My work has become more abstract in nature as I work pulling the pixels from photos, discarding their containers, the shapes and objects they form, and creating new substances, new compositions from this raw material. After printing the new image onto canvas, I then glaze the surface with a number of sheer colours to deepen and enrich the surface.

Here is a preview of some of the works in progress:

 





These three artworks above are all waiting for glazing so it'll be interesting to see how much they change before being finished!
