About

Ellen Scobie was born and raised on Vancouver Island where she spent a lot of time outside. This was not due to any innate love of nature but rather to her mother's insistence on getting the kids out of the house.
She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BFA in art history and a surprising tolerance for fierce weather conditions. Although she loved Winnipeg, she set off for London where she worked with old printing presses, art nouveau letter blocks and other stuff you can only find in England. The lure of the sun drew her to Spain where she hung around with a lot of arty types and developed an appreciation for fine Rioja and bacalau al pil-pil.
Back on the west coast Ellen created marketing communications for many years before giving it all up to launch Verosimile Design, a company dedicated to bringing thought-provoking, beautiful images into everyday life. Verosimile participates at art fairs, markets and exhibitions in Metro Vancouver.
Currently residing in beautiful Burnaby, she still tries to spend a lot of time outside mostly due to her own insistence to take a break from the computer.
